To save yourself on set up time, have the following information available:
A list of the products you wish to sell, using a name your customers will easily recognize or understand, a product SKU #, and a manufactures part number if you are reselling.
Determine your selling price for each item
Determine if you will be including any taxes and shipping charges in the advertised purchase price, (the price displayed on the category page, and product detail page) or if you will be adding these costs on when you set up your shopping cart. You should let your customers know how these charges will be handled.
Determine your shipping methods, and how you will communicate these methods to your visitors.
Short description of each product. Keep it to one sentence, most people will not read an entire paragraph if they just want to know what it is they are looking at.
Make a list of items that you think will sell the best, so you can add them to the "featured items" menu on the catalog page.
Determine your categories, we've provided six category pages, but you can add as many as you like.
On the product detail page, you have the option of adding what ever information you like. The more detailed the information is, will likely sell your product more effectively. We have place "default" areas and information ideas for your product information:
Product description
Product image (large 300x300 pixels)
Manufactures logo, and link to home page
Manufactures link to product support, software/driver downloads

Set up your thumbnail options for FrontPage. Your thumbnail images for your catalog should be no more that 100 x100 pixels. To set this up click on the Tools menu> page options > select the Auto Thumbnail tab > select width - change to 100 pixles > and for a professional appearance, leave the borders unchecked. Borders do not look very good against the themes background.
Determine your shipping carriers, and how you will be managing the delivery process. If you visit the web sites of carriers such as UPS, and FedEx, they have excellent resources available for merchants.
